There were egg sweets, and hard sweet biscuits, sponge rolls filled with various flavoured creams. There were confections made from almond, figs, and custard filled tarts and rolls. It was always a dilemma to place an order at a pastelaria, since there were almost always nearly 25 plus varieties of sweets to choose from!
