The weather was perfect, and the beach practically deserted, judging by the number of footprints in the sand! The cliffs rose vertically above the little cove - at the farthest end of the cliff is a small fort.
I have seen pictures of Nazaré shot in the summer, and the beach is unrecognizable. The sand is swarming with tourists sunbathing in a warm stupor. The elderly ladies from the village set up mini covered stalls and charge tourists for their use.
