Every town has its own pastry that it is famous for, and in Sintra it was the  'queijada da Sintra' - tiny (very) sweet round tarts of cream cheese and almond paste. The pastelaria in the town centre was owned by Vanda's family. Having bought the little tarts from her, we sat at the one of the outdoor tables to sample them. She came out a while later, to ask us if we liked them. One thing led to another, and soon we were in the midst of a wonderfully long chat with her ... we had many questions about Portugal, and she provided us with the most succinct and comprehensive answers. I've shared more of it in the 'ABOUT' section if you're interested.
